The complete portfolio of automated end-of-line packaging and protective paper solutions will be shown together for the first time, demonstrating how the comprehensive solution unlocks unrivalled ROI
CONCORD TOWNSHIP, Ohio – 23 October, 2024 – Ranpak Holdings Corp. (“Ranpak”) (NYSE: PACK), a global leader of paper-based packaging solutions for e-commerce and industrial supply chains, will demonstrate how its automated end-of-line (EOL) packaging solutions unlock unrivalled ROIat Logistica Next, Jaarbeurs, Utrecht, November 5 to 7, on Booth no. 07-C008 and 07-C020.
For the first time, Ranpak will present its automated end-of-line packaging and protective paper packaging solutions at two adjacent booths, showcasing brand-new innovations that are both efficient and environmentally sustainable. Ranpak’s automated solutions are modular and scalable, allowing them to optimize total cost of ownership and create a pathway to unrivalled ROI. The combination of manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated solutions allow Ranpak to meet the needs of a wide range of customers, all while offering high levels of protection without the use of plastic.
Each solution is designed to streamline production by optimizing the end-of-line flow, whether that’s through reducing touchpoints, accelerating the packing process, and/or minimizing void with the ultimate goal of lowering operational and shipping costs. With more than 50 years in protective packaging solutions, Ranpak’s expertise has enhanced the packaging process through both material and equipment.
The EOL packaging portfolio presented on Booth no. 07-C008 and 07-C020 will include:
- Precube’it!™ – A newly available consultative analysis that helps determine the optimal packing orientation and box size inventory for any operation. Unlike other tools that calculate using liquid volume, Precube’it! offers greater accuracy because calculations are based on the precise dimensions of each SKU. This consulting service based on the patented Precube’it! software uses historical site order data to simulate machine utilization and box fill rates for future scenarios, as well as consolidating and optimizing the range of box sizes required to be maintained on site. This allows operators to reduce the amount of corrugated material required by choosing the right design and size boxes for each parcel. It can also be utilized to reduce the number of split shipments.
- Cut’it!™ EVO – This automated height-reduction machine reduces the height of cartons to match their highest point of filling and then glues a lid securely in place, all with zero waste. Automating this process creates a pathway to labor savings, flow optimization, an enhanced unboxing experience, shipping cost reduction, reduced material usage, and improved stock management.
- DecisionTower™ – This solution uses AI-assisted machine vision to maximize EOL equipment uptime to tailor business processes for operational excellence. AI detects out-of-scope boxes, which both optimizes packing and prevents machine stops. It reduces reliance on operators for quality control and captures data to prevent future errors from rough handling or faulty packaging.
- Flap’it!™ – This automated packaging solution for small products ensures that items like books, smartphones, accessories, games, spare parts, and other small B2B and B2C electronics are packed using the smallest amount of volume while minimizing void. It also offers outstanding product protection and fewer product returns thanks to integrated cushioning bumpers at the corners of each box. Ranpak will be sharing free samples on their stand.
- Fillpak Trident Mini™ – 100% paper-based, this protective packaging solution delivers an average of 20-25% reduction in paper usage compared to other paper-based machines. It can eliminate the use of non-sustainable plastic-based products like airbags as well. It is designed to serve in void fill applications while providing additional blocking, bracing, and fixation for safe product delivery in shipping.
- Geami MV™ – This new compact converter is easy to use and highly efficient. It leverages the sustainable power of paper and is an environmentally responsible alternative to plastic bubble wrap. The Geami MV features a smart design that accommodates smaller paper rolls. As a result, the streamlined, modular solution can fit into any packing environment.
First looks at new and upcoming packaging solutions
In addition to the full portfolio listed above, Ranpak will also be unveiling two new packaging solutions that combine protective packaging with automation for the first time. The first is the PadPak Multi-Station, which is a modular cushioning pad delivery system that improves ergonomics and productivity in the packing area. By delivering cushioning pads directly to the pack station at eye level, it minimizes the need for employees to leave the pack station to refill materials. The system will be available in Europe as of Q1 2025.
Similarly, booth visitors will also be the first to see the Pad’it! – an automated pad insertion solution. Capable of handling up to 15 boxes per minute, this highly efficient solution completes a repetitive task and cuts damage rates with automated cushion insertion, minimizing customer complaints. With a single point of operation, it’s easy to use and maintain, improving throughput and packaging performance while delivering an enhanced unboxing experience. The Pad’it! will be available globally in Q1 2025.
Stop by to talk to Ranpak’s team of experts who will be demonstrating these new solutions in real-time and are available to consult on operational enhancements to put you on the path to unrivaled ROI.
